God: The Ultimate Scientist
Wonderful Engineerting

Sometimes I just sit and let my mind race in circles, trying to fathom the concept of God.

I read this book my junior year of high school about the crazy phenomenon that is our universe, and God as its creator. There are some indescribably beautiful, things out there, yet also some extremely terrifying, things. So this book talked about the extreme vastness of the universe, and the fact that the universe is constantly expanding. I had no idea our universe was getting bigger and bigger by the second, and by mapping the expansion of the universe in reverse, we can see the initial "spark" that began the world as we know it.

I guess I never thought about God as a scientist, but God invented science.

When speaking about the constant expansion–and therefore the almost unimaginable size–of the universe, the book spoke of a photo taken from a satellite telescope called the Hubble telescope. The photo is known as Hubble Ultra Deep Field. The book said that this photo showed a zoomed-out view of part of the universe, with specks of star-like orbs of light in the distance. But when you zoom into the photo, the stars turn out to be entire galaxies.

Immediately I knew I must see this photo, and sure enough, at first glance it looks like a photo of stars. But by looking closer, you see that each little fleck of light is an entire galaxy.

(Link to the photo in high resolution.)

Looking at this photo, one sees just how big our world really is. Each “star” out of the hundreds is the size of (or perhaps bigger than) the Milky Way, which is multi-thousand times the size of our Solar System, which could fit roughly around 8,000 objects the size of our Sun, which could fit 1 million Earths.

And the God that we serve holds all of this in His hand.

God is vast. Unfathomable. Therefore, our knowledge of Him can be unending. We can never fully grasp the size of God or know everything about Him. And if we did ever had this kind of knowledge, we would by definition be equal to God. Now, the fact that we will never fully comprehend God can be discouraging and daunting if we feel the need to know everything, which is a selfish way to live if you think about it. But, on another hand, the fact that we can never fully grasp God can also be exciting. Because we can always learn something new about Him. We will never get bored.

As the universe constantly expands, so our possible knowledge of The Lord of the universe expands, showing the vastness of His splendor. God is bigger than the biggest thing we know, the universe, and even our knowledge of that has its limits.

God is the greatest scientist of all time. We constantly learn new things about Him, as He continues to create a universe that harbors entire galaxies, each continuing to blow our small, earthly minds.

And nevertheless, He cares for us as His own children.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
