God Wants To Bring Newness Into Your 2019
Isaiah 43:19 – "Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and the rivers, and the desert."

We are finally in 2019. I just want to encourage you, sons and daughters, to expect great things from God this year. The one thing about this year that stands out is newness. Expect God to bring newness into your lives.

In this year of newness, I want to talk about a few things you can bring into this year that will make newness your new normal. One thing to bring into this year is daily devotion to God's Word. Meditate on His Word day and night and stay attentive to His voice. If there are any distractions in your life, cut them out and move closer to Christ.

Also, try to incorporate fasting and prayer into your 2019. If you want this year to be about blooming, you must fast and pray. Not only does it bring you closer to God, but it also opens your eyes to see all that God is doing in your life. Often in hard seasons of life, we tend to leave God out and lose faith in the things that we cannot see. When you fast and pray, God opens you up to have hope in all that is to come.

Lastly, let go of the old. Whenever you enter a new year, God wants the old to pass away. The only way for that to happen is if we fully submit and surrender our past to God. Past sins should no longer be repeated. God can't bring in the new when we are living in the old.

So today, sons and daughters, focus on the God who wants to bring newness into your life. Learn to daily devote your life to Christ, incorporate fasting and prayer, and let go of all the old in your life. God wants to bring new marriages, opportunities, relationships, desires, and ministries into your life. Let go and let the new come in.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.
