"A God Moment Makes A Day!"

This book entitled "God Moments for You" authored by Carolyn Larsen was given me by a very close friend and his wonderful mother as a graduation present. I found myself flipping through the pages tonight and thought I should share the beautiful reminders and words of God outlined in this book. These are merely a few of the verses that jumped out at me. Because don't we all need words of wisdom from the Word of God?

Words of Wisdom

"May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer." -Psalm 19:14

Honest Worship

"Great is the Lord and most worthy of His praise; His greatness no one can fathom." -Psalm 145:3

Trials

"Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones." -Proverbs 3:7-8

Tough Love

"Hatred stirs up conflict, but love conquers over all wrongs." -Proverbs 10:12

Problem or Opportunity?

"Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us." -Romans 5:3-5

Helping One Another

"Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." -Hebrews 10:24

Moments of Blessing

"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever." -1 Chronicles 16:34

A Second of Thankfulness

"Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name." -Psalm 100:4

Prayers in The Good Times

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." -Philippians 4:6

Basic Thankfulness

"Always give thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." -Ephesians 5:20

How to Respond

"Do not say 'I'll do to them as they have done to me; I'll pay them back for what they did.'" -Proverbs 24:29

Originality

"I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well." -Psalm 139:14

Be Still

"He says 'Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." -Psalm 46:10

The Value of Friends

"No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us." -1 John 4:12

Problem Fighter

"If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you." -Luke 17:6

God's Constant Presence

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." -Joshua 1:9

Word of Love

"Do everything in love." -1 Corinthians 16:14

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
