People keep asking the question "When is this world going to change?" I mean every time you turn on the television there always seems to be a story about a shooting that took place overnight, or some riot going on in a nearby town. So no wonder why people keep asking the question of when this world will change. But maybe the answer to that question isn't to change the world as a whole. Maybe there is a smaller step that has to be taken first, and then that step will lead to another step, and eventually after so many little steps you can change the whole world.
I heard a story once of a teacher that gave his class a picture. It was a picture of the world and he told his class to tear the picture apart. So the class tore the picture apart and after that, he told them to put the picture back together. Knowing the task was going to be nearly impossible they begin to put the picture back together. Ten minutes go by and one of the boys raises his hand letting the teacher that he was done. The teacher expecting the boy to be completely wrong goes and checks on him anyway. When the teacher came over to look he saw that every piece was exactly where it needed to be, and he was stunned. He asked the boy, "How did you put this back together so fast?" The boy replied, " I saw that before we ripped the picture apart there was a picture of a man on the back. So after I tore the picture apart I just simply turned each piece over and tried to put the man back together. Once the man was put back together I knew the world would be put back together."
This is a perfect example of our world today, our world is in pieces, but so is man. We have to put man back together before we out the world back together. This world is not going to change on its own, man has to change first. When man finally changes then the whole world will change. But here is the thing, man will not change if God is not involved.
As humans, we do not physically have the will power to change ourselves. God is the only person who can change anyone because he gives us that extra bit of strength and power that we need to change ourselves. God has to be the foundation for which we set our hope on. Once we start putting God back into our schools, back into our communities, back into our homes, then we will start seeing change in man. Then once we start seeing change in man, then we will start seeing change in the world. So instead of asking "When is this world going to change?" ask the question " Where can we start applying God back into our lives?" This is how we will change the world!
