God Loves You

He made each one of us special as well as in his image and he wants to have a personal relationship with each of us.

Relationships tend to fluctuate over time. Your best friend from middle school might have adopted an entirely new group of friends, gradually pushing you out into the cold.

Maybe the same thing happened with the girl you thought of as a sister, once she found the guy she believed was her “happily ever after”. Or maybe it was even a parent, who was so immersed in their work that you were largely ignored for the sake of the almighty dollar. It may have happened to you so many times that it’s caused you to subconsciously draw parallels between those broken relationships and the relationship you have with God. You begin to wonder what will be the tipping point where He finally decides, “I’ve had enough”.

If any of this sounds familiar, I want to encourage you in the fact that God loves you. Yes, you! I don’t care what label you place on yourself, whether it’s Christian, Atheist, Agnostic, Backslider, Wiccan, Liberal, Conservative, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish, Satanist or any other name under the sun. God loves you so much that He was manifested on the Earth as Jesus so that He could deliver you from all forms of bondage.

Scripture Verses

John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Matthew 1:23 “‘Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,’ which is translated, 'God with us.’”

I’m sure you’ve heard it all before but for you the question remains, “Will His love eventually fade if I fail?” How can we be sure it won’t? Because He promised to never change.

Malachi 3:6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.”

Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

He loved you when you were at your lowest. He’s omniscient, so He knew even the worst sin that you contemplated doing, but He had a plan to bless you anyway!

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

God’s love toward you does not have strings attached. He doesn’t have the human mindset of, “If you don’t misbehave, THEN I’ll always love you.” No, His love is unconditional and unfailing- no matter how far you fall. No matter how close you were to Him and how far you’ve run from Him, His love remains the same. Jesus loves you. Jesus loves you. Jesus loves you!

Hosea 6:6 “For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.”

If you were on the path of righteousness and you tripped, fell on the ground and couldn’t get up, then I want you to know God doesn’t mock you. He just reaches out His hands for you to take, because not only did He start your faith but He will finish it too!

Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

John 6:37 “All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.”

There is no sin that you’ve committed that would disgust God so much that He wouldn’t forgive you. His Word declares that if we go to Him with a sincere and repentant heart, He’ll wash our sins away as if they never even existed. We are a new creation in Jesus Christ! We are the righteousness of God in Him by His mercy.

Acts 3:19 “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,”

Hebrews 8:12 “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

2 Corinthians 5:21 “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

He will never turn His back on you. His love will never go up or down based off your “job performance”. For God is love!

1 John 4:16 “And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.”

I hope this was helpful to you! And if you’ve never known God and have a desire to, then rest assured all you have to do is believe Him and you’ll be born again.

Acts 16:31 “So they said, 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.’”
Romans 10:9 “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
