God, Help Us All

The votes are in, and does it really matter? Both Trump and Clinton would have done bad, and now the country thinks they have chosen the lesser of two evils.

Remember, Remember, the 8th of November

This day will go down in history as the day our country started to fall off of its pedestal as one of the most powerful countries in the world. Yesterday, November 8th 2016, was the day that our once magnificent country voted to elect a pompous, foul-mouthed fool into the office of the presidency. Now, keep in mind, this foul mouthed fool was up against a lying, sneaking excuse for a politician, and she was no better of a choice.

BOTH Donald Trump AND Hillary Clinton would have ruined this country should they have been elected, and our country chose the pompous idiot. God help us all.

If Hillary Clinton was elected, I would be saying the same exact message as well. On the bright side, we know that Donald Trump will shout all of his plans from the mountain top instead of hiding them in emails that can be hacked. However, now the entire world sees us as a joke, and our reputation as a powerhouse is forever tarnished.

I wanted neither of them to win. I wanted this election to be thrown out in its entirety and start over with candidates that at least know what they are talking about. This campaign season was riddled with media nonsense and endless bashing of one another. Instead of trying to show the public their platforms for success, Trump and Clinton resorted to yelling at one another about why they were wrong. The election came down one sentence snippets as opposed actual quality debating.

All I can say is, God help us all. God help us all get through the next four years. God helps us all if Donald Trump actually fulfills many of the promises he made during his campaign. God help us all if a wall is built, if immigrants are forced out, and if our country is literally torn in off.

What is next for our once great country? Impeachment? War? Success maybe? It is now in Trump’ Hands. Clinton’s hands would have done just as bad. Maybe it does not even matter who won and we are all over reacting. Until we know the answer to that question...

God Help Us All.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
