Love.

That word alone is so powerful.

Love is something that we all look for every single day. It is what we strive for, everyone wants to find it.

We all want to be loved and to be in love.

So how do we find it?

How do we earn it?

Well, let me tell you, you are already loved.

Every single one of us is made with God's love. When he created you, he created you with love in his image. He loves you endlessly.

While we all chase the love and appreciation of other human beings, working to gain their trust to prove we are worthy of the love of others, we do not need to chase after those things with God because he already loves us.

He loves our imperfections, our mistakes, and our sins.

We often feel that we will not be accepted for our sins, that we have let God down with the mistakes we have made and that we are unforgivable.

That could not be farther from the truth.

He is forgiving of everything. There is no sin or mistake too great that he will not forgive.

Psalm 86:15 says "But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness."

That thought of Gods unfailing love can give you a multitude of emotions. Maybe you are relieved or maybe you are overwhelmed and do not know what to do.

Start by accepting God's love. Thank him for all that he has given you and notice his love around you.

I know that is easier said than done, especially when we are in a difficult season of life.

When going through difficult times, start by thanking and praising him for the little things in life, like waking you up in the morning, the food that is on your table, the clothes on your back, the roof over your hear and the friends and family that you have in your life that love and care about you.

No matter what you are going through, there is always something to be grateful for.

When you start to notice and appreciate the little things in life, you will see more of God's work in all aspects of your life. It is all about your outlook on life.

If you think negative thoughts, only negative things will seem to come, if you think positive thoughts, more positive things will make an appearance in your life.

God's love is vastly different than the love of other human beings.

It is not something that we have to earn.

It is something that we already have.

We just have to notice it around us and thank him for it.

"Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever." Psalm 136:26

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
