I pray often, but not nearly as much as I should.

I feel like as Christians we tend to naturally pray the most when asking God to help us through rough waters, or when we are asking for blessings. It's rare that we make it a priority to pray when things are going great in our lives.

Throughout my life, I've had a constant battle with my faith and as I mentioned before, I struggled with understanding what God's greater plan for me was. Growing up in a Christian environment and attending a Christian school, I always felt guilty for questioning my faith due to all I had been through at a young age, and my questioning God made it easier for me to fall into patterns of confusion, disappointment, and deep depression. As I grew older and experienced even more, however, I began to realize that I have so much more to be thankful for rather than to be upset and angry at God about.

Rather than praying more when I'm down bad and struggling, I want to make it a point to give more thanks to God for all He does for me, especially for Him blessing me with you, because without you, I wouldn't be here today.

So, to the person who saved my life, I want you to know how much I value you.

I could have ended it all that night, but you reminded me of my strength. You reminded me that as alone as I felt, no matter what, I had you. You told me how incredibly loved I was, even though I didn't feel it at the time.

When tears were rushing down my face, you knew the exact words to say. It's like God breathed His truth into you so that you could share it with me that night. The very sound of your voice brought me peace. It's amazing how God does it—sends you an angel to show you the light in your darkest moments.

To the person who saved my life, know how much I love you. I pray for you every night before I go to sleep--the same way you prayed for me that night. Your soul is on fire for the Lord, and I see it in you more and more every day. God was working in you then, and he continues to work in you now, and it's so beautiful to see.

You inspire me and make me want to be a better person myself. You never fail to remind me of my potential, and as Jesus would, you'd give me the shirt off your back if you felt I needed it more than you did.

To the person who saved my life, thank you for reminding me how much Jesus loves me. My faith has wavered from time to time, but because of people like you, I've always found my way back home.

Not only are you a blessing in my life, but you're a blessing to everyone else's as well.

If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here today, so thank you for showing me love when I couldn't even love myself. I thank God for you always because you've taught me how to see the beauty in my own struggles and how to give thanks for the good times, the bad times, and everything in between.

Not only do you show me that there's much more to life than a few bad moments, but you remind me of all the good to come in this crazy, unpredictable, life we live.

You saved me from my own destruction and understood me when no one else could, and for that, I thank God for blessing me with you.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
