God Bless The United States of America and The President

I'd like to see you run as president of the United States.

God Bless The United States of America and The President

Damn, guys. I don't know how you do what you all do. You work in a building that runs the United States of America. I sure do know I could not do what you all do.

I've always wondered what it's like to live in the White House, to work in the capitol or Pentagon, or to just walk pass the White House every day on my way to work. Washington D.C. is a crazy city -- our country's leaders live there! Do you ever think about that? Our freedom that we have now is because of the workers inside those monumental and historical buildings.

No, this isn't going to be about politics. CNN has that all covered and I'm sure they are talking about the election right now as you are reading this. Personally, our society has never really said thank you to the leaders of the United States. Whether you like the president or not, he/she is dedicating their life to help your everyday freedoms and that's a pretty cool job. So many people are wanting to live in our country now, and I think it's important to just take time to say thank you the people in Washington D.C. working to make our country something better each and every day.

The President of the United States has to have body guards and security following him/her around. Could you imagine wanting to go to the grocery store and having a few people follow you every where? I know we all like our personal space, and it's hard for the president to find that time. They do it for YOU. Sacrificing personal space for you... have you ever thought about that? College students always need some time away from roommates, siblings sure as hell need their space, married couples, dogs, bees, everything. President, not so much.

They get reprimanded more than praised. I know I would quit from lack of confidence and criticism if I had the job of the president. He/She can't just get up and walk away (maybe because their security would get in the way, HA) but seriously, they get so much criticism when all the president is doing is trying to HELP and IMPROVE our society. Crazy concept...

Whether you are a republican, democrat, independent, whatever... Washington D.C. is trying to help you and our society improve. Yes, they do things and act on situations that I don't approve of, but I realize that they are doing what they are for the greater good of society. Maybe it doesn't benefit you, but it will benefit someone somewhere who really needs that.

It's a hard job to be president of the United States of America - so thank you to Barack Obama for running the country for 8 years, and thank you to Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton for wanting to take on the biggest job in America.

...and if someone in the White House sees this, let Obama know I said thank you!

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
