God, And Our Struggle For Purity
Daniel Bryant

"For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God..."

1st Thessalonians 4:3-5

Before I continue on, let me inform you of who the man is on the front cover of this article. That is my father, Daniel Bryant, and he is the first example of true biblical manhood and purity that I've seen in my lifetime. Thank you, sir, for preserving yourself to set an example of such a godly marriage.

In the words of Jared Sanders, people are living as if we are upside down. The world that we live in is morally inverted. America, in particular, has turned farther and farther from God over time in ways that most people are not aware of. Our culture today is in a state of decay, as men and young boys are pumped with fantasies of sexual immorality in everyday living.

First, allow me to make it known that I write from a place of experience, a place of understanding. Sexual immorality, for men and women, whether it is pornography or fornication, is deadly to the mind and spirit. I know this firsthand.

What God has created for us is perfect in it's entirety. Just think of it: reserving your first kiss for the one man or woman that you choose to marry with under the will of God. How beautiful that moment would be! Taking up the noble commitment to total purity may sound like a overly high standard but the sacrifice is never better than the blessing. There is something amazing that takes place when a man and a woman become intimate in a Godly marriage. When they become united as Genesis 2:24 says, they then become one flesh. Just think about how much stronger and authentic that relationship becomes through having God as the foundation. This, my friends, is what we truly need. We cannot be entirely and wholeheartedly devoted to God, first and foremost, if there is even a hint of sexual immorality in our lives.

So how do we get clean from impurity? First through repentance to God and confession to others, secondly through community, surrounding yourself with Godly people, those who are willing and able to be accountable for you and to help you on your journey. Lastly, but certainly not the least of these, we gain purity and sanctification through time spent with the Lord and His word. These times are crucial. Important enough to where one must make time to spend with God. The best way to be just like someone is to spend time with that person, and to watch how that person lives their life. The same is true for our relationship with God. If we are to be like him in every aspect of our lives, which includes our sexual lives, then we must spend time with him. It is the most effective way to grow spiritually.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
