God Allows Me To Not Fear Terrorism

I will stand tall knowing that The Good Lord has my back.

God Allows Me To Not Fear Terrorism
Jeremy Fletcher

In the month of July, there has been more terrorist attacks than I can count on my fingers. There has been shootings across the globe, and because of this, people are left living their lives in fear of terrorists. I can proudly say that I am not in the mix of people that fear terrorism. Why? It's simple. I love a God who will protect me even in the darkest of times. I love a God who will, in case the worst happens, give me an even better, more permanent home. I love a God who knows exactly what will happen to me before I do, and I find so much comfort in that.

I find comfort in the fact that God watches over me. It's not enough to just pray to God for Him to keep you safe. You have to truly, deep down believe that He will put you under His wing of protection. You have to truly believe that God knows what is happening, and while it breaks His heart, He knows what to do. He is ultimately in control, and there's no way I can live life in fear knowing that fact.

It's so easy to hear about everything that is happening in the world, and become terrified of what is to happen next. I mean, the shooting in Munich began in a McDonald's. No one in their right mind thought that they were going to get shot just by wanting a cheeseburger. This world is not what it used to be, and because of that, it's OK to feel scared sometimes. However, it isn't OK to live your life in fear. It isn't OK to not want to go to places just because you think something may happen. Friends, God has your back. He loves you. He will protect you.

Now, I'm not saying that just because He loves you and protects you that these things won't happen, because they will. Actually, from the looks of it, it's only becoming more common. Don't let this scare you. Don't let this turn your mind from what is important. These shootings, and these attacks, do one thing: They make people focus on it. They take people's attention from what truly matters: that God is still in control, and that there is still good left in this world. Next time you hear about a terrorist attack, refrain from immediately being terrified. Instead, take some time to pray over the situation, and thank God for always having your back. I promise, no matter what situation is happening in this world, God has us. He is our best friend. He wants what is best for us. I promise you, we will be alright -- because He's got us.

"Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth." Ephesians 6:13

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
