God Ain't Trippin'

After repentance, the Lord isn't caught up over your sins and niether should you be.

Too often, as a Christian, you can get so caught up in what you have done wrong and how you have sinned, you forget that God is a forgiving father. He doesn't look down on you or love you any less. Does he get frustrated or disappointed? Probably. But what father wouldn't? Sometimes you start to distance yourself simply because you think your sin was too great for His forgiveness. You feel as though you can't pray to Him or go crying to Him, because He's upset. But He's a good father. And it's rare that He's sitting above the universe trippin' on what you did last night.

First, we must remember that if we feel as though our sin is too great to be forgiven, we are doubting and discounting how powerful the Resurrection of Jesus is. He died for every one of our sins and doesn't pick and choose who gets grace. Author A.C Dixon's states that:

In Jesus Christ on the Cross there is refuge; there is safety; there is
shelter; and all the power of sin upon our track cannot reach us when we
have taken shelter under the Cross that atones for our sins.

There is so much truth in those few lines. We can find safety in knowing that our sins and wrongdoings have been taken care of by the cross. And with that same cross that bears our sins, is the same cross we can crawl underneath and be cuddled by Christ. Thank you Father for giving us your son so that we may find joy in you even after we have sinned against you.

Secondly, the Lord forgets our sins after we have confessed and prayed for His forgiveness. Praying for forgiveness isn't something we should be ashamed of and afraid to do. (Though, it should be done with a remorseful and genuine heart.) The Lord doesn't want you to just see Him as master, or a God, but as a Father, someone who will continue to accept and love you with open arms, just as the father did in the book of Luke. God tells us in Hebrews that He:

".Will be merciful to [our] iniquities, and He will remember [our] sins no more."
- Hebrews 8:12

From this verse we can understand that the Lord holds no grudges against His children. Thank you Father for not trippin' over the things we have done and extending your grace to us.

We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God, but we should find joy in being able to go to a loving Father and comfortably repent to Him. He's never going to forsake you, only if you run completely into His arms, no sins or strings attached. He's a Father full of love and grace for His children. There will never be a sin to strong that He can't forgive.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
