Thanksgiving is just around the corner, so get your food baby clothes ready! A holiday that is all about food and the people you love surrounding you, you just couldn’t go wrong with Thanksgiving. I know that all throughout the year, this is what everyday life is like, but for some reason during the holiday’s it truly shows. The I love you’s are stronger, hugs more earnest, kindness a little more meaningful, and the kisses more tender. When you’re away from family, you start to count down the days to when you can feel whole again. Till the time that you can share amazing food or fight over who gets the last slice of Grandmas’ famous pumpkin pie. Where the same cringe worthy questions are asked year after year, “how are your grades,” “are you dating anyone,” “how’s school going?” All you do is smile and answer politely; even though that’s most likely the third time you’ve answered the question and you have over four aunts and uncles. Then when Christmas comes around be prepared to answer them again. Even though these questions can drive you crazy, you wouldn’t have it any other way.

Leading up to thanksgiving I am dreaming about dancing turkeys, homemade mac n’ cheese, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and the endless amounts of deserts. Excuse my drool. Tis the holiday to not care that your pants button just flew across the room and knocked aunt Barbra out. Thanksgiving is just the best, besides your uncles arguing about sports and then politics. You just want them to stuff their mouths with stuffing and be quiet. You share so many memories and laughter, that at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter that your jaw is in so much pain from eating and talking. All you want to do is pass out and do it all over again the next day.

This year I hope with everything going in the world, people can put aside their differences and share a plate of kindness with one another. Be thankful, be kind, be loving; for we have so much to live for and to be thankful for. I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving and gobble til’ you wobble!

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
