Have you ever heard someone incessantly complain about something, but never make an effort to fix the problem? I see this happen all of the time, and I can't help but think to myself "if you don't like something, change it." We all have control of our own lives, and with a little motivation we have the power to steer it in any direction we want. But first, we need to set goals.
Goals are crucial, because without them you have nothing to work towards. It's important to always know what you're working for. Whether it be a hot summer body, or straight A's, goals are what keep us in line. There are long term goals, and short term goals- both of which are equally important because the short term goals can help us work for the long term ones.
Personally, I like to remind myself everyday of what my goals are. Ideally, I would like to move to a big city after college, be close to my siblings, and pursue a career that I love. These are all attainable and reasonable with a little motivation and determination along the way.
Making goals and reaching them is also one of the most attractive qualities a person can have. I'm sure we've all heard the saying "more girls need to be infatuated by a man with education, ambition faith and goals, rather than a dude with swag." It's true that setting goals, and achieving them really do make you a more attractive, well rounded person. Who wants to hang around someone who has no ambition?
Like I said before, we have full control of our lives, and we can't be afraid to shoot for the stars. If you don't like something, change it. If you aren't happy, find your happiness and run with it. Living a life without goals, is like going on a road trip to a place you've never been to without a map. There's no direction. It may be hard, and you will undoubtedly run into obstacles along the way, but don't let that stop you!
As Michael Jordan once said, "Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."
