Welcoming 2017 is something I'm actually really excited for. Despite how half of my childhood actors and musicians have passed in 2016, I feel like 2017 will be an extraordinary year. I'm excited to see how I'll grow, open another chapter in my life, embrace the great old age of 19, and most importantly I want to see how many of my goals I achieve this year.
Every year I set a resolution but never accomplish it. 2017 is going to be the year I start my memory jar along with crossing my goals off one by one. To me, goals seem a lot easier to achieve since you can use things like vision boards to help you reach them faster. Goals seem less intimidating in a way because with goals they can take a lot or a little bit of effort.
Setting goals can bring a lot more motivation too. Setting daily reminders on your phone for goals like exercise can make achieving them easier. Also another great way to motivate yourself is some type of vision board. Whether it be sticky notes on your desk or pictures clipped together, it helps people to look towards the greater outcome. Asking friends and family to help you keep yourself on track is always a great idea because close friends and family can basically demand you to get that goal scratched off your list.
Picking a word that will motivate you in the right direction might also be helpful. For 2017, my word I'm going to use will be balance. I want to learn how to better balance my life, better balance my worries and fears, and learn to balance everything else in between.
And of course with every new year comes challenges but there are always ways of overcoming them. Goals allow you to have more flexibility in the way you approach them. If it's not going how you wanted, you can always change the routine. Wanna become more organized but don't have the time? Make it a goal to schedule in time to sit down and reorganize one thing at a time and pretty soon everything will be in order.
Why not make 2017 the year for setting goals? Take every opportunity to chase those dreams and turn them into part of your new chapter.
