TV Guide

October 5th was the sixteenth anniversary of the premiere of the television show Gilmore Girls. For those of you who do not know, Gilmore Girls was seven seasons chalked full of the lives of Lorelei and Rory Gilmore, mother and daughter and best friends. They live in the quaint town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. Emily and Richard live in Hartford and have a complicated relationship with their daughter and granddaughter. Lane is Rory's best friend. She loves music and is usually hiding things from her mother. Sookie is the chef at the inn Lorelei runs, and is also Lorelei's best friend. Luke runs the diner, and is always there for the Gilmore Girls. There are many others that make up Stars Hollow. Gilmore Girls is such a great show and I want you to watch it, so below I have included ten reasons why you should.

1. Relatable

Rory goes through trouble with relationships and hard tests just like you do. Whatever Rory is going through, you will most likely relate to her experience in some way.

2. Peaceful

Lorelei and Rory live in the small town of Stars Hollow. When your life feels crazy and out of your control, go to Stars Hollow. It will make you feel happier, for sure.

3. Town Hall Meetings

Yelling, screaming, arguing, laughing, smiling, and food, their is always snacks brought. Town hall meetings in Stars Hollow never fail to entertain.

4. Lorelei Gilmore Quotes

Lorelei quotes are the best, enough said.

5. Kirk

He is annoying and crazy, but you cannot help but care about him. Neither can the town of Stars Hollow. Everyone seems to look out for Kirk in a way as he tackles his many many many odd jobs.

6. Pop Culture

Lorelei and Rory are always up on what is happening in the world in terms of pop culture. They mention so many books and so many movies it is hard to keep track. However, if you do catch a couple they mention, it is always fun to go check it out if you do not know what they are talking about.

7. Luke

Luke, Oh Luke. Luke runs the diner in town and makes sure there is always enough coffee for the Gilmore girls. Luke and Lorelei constantly banter back and forth in a very loving and sweet way.

8. Coffee

The Gilmore Girls live and breath coffee. There is so much coffee in this show. It is like its own character, almost.

9. Relationships

Lorelei and Rory have an amazing mother daughter relationship. There are amazing relationships with friends and other family, and there is also many different relationships with guys. The changing of relationships and the many different relationships are very interesting.

10. It is coming back!!!

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life premieres on Netflix November 25. It will be four mini movies one in each season, taking us through a year of life with the Gilmore Girls as they are now. Start watching Gilmore Girls now and catch up before the new episodes come out.

I could go on and on about why I think you should watch Gilmore Girls, but I do not want to take up anymore of your time that you could be using to watch the show. Go check it out!

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.
