Continuously through high school I got told several times the famous phrase, "College is the best years of your life." Oh were they wrong. I believe getting a college degree is really important, but going to college is a pain. If you thought you had to study a lot in high school and had lots of responsibilities before, wait until you get to college.

One word that makes this phrase the best lies of all is "debts". A students worst nightmare and something indeed very overwhelming. Going to college most of the times can be so pricey that you feel the need to go sob in the corner of your room. Its all fun and games until you have received a letter from the student loans office saying how much you have in debts. A fact most people don't actually know, a student debt is the only debt that can't be removed. So, think twice before signing any student loans. They are not easy to pay off. At the end of the 4 years, you may find yourself crying more than when you left home to go to college.

Also, going broke is something you never thought could happen until it actually happens. With all the freedom college gives you and all the new friends you make, staying on campus isn't always an option. Your bank account can go from 100 to 0 real quick. Its not just the partying, getting tired of campus food is totally acceptable. Sometimes your body needs real food, so the solution is going out for dinner. Finally, when you add up transportation, drinks and food, your summer job check is already gone.

In conclusion, endless work takes you to a whole new level of sleep deprivation. So, if you thought sleeping was going to get easier, think again. Piles of work are waiting on you and they are due tomorrow. You'll find little time to do the things you enjoy and little time to actually relax, but after all, its the college experience you wont want to miss. Its part of life, so make the best out of it. Its only 4 years.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
