Trust me: it is an addiction that can't be cured, but I'm okay with it.

When I first downloaded this game, I lived in a rural, unpopulated city that was completely useless for this game. There were no stops, no gyms, nothing. I also didn't go walking much. But let me tell you, this app has forced me to go out and walk more than I ever would have and has given something fun for me and all my friends to go do together. And with the game constantly updating and improving, it's easier than ever to have fun and play, while also inspiring people to get outside. Here are some reasons I personally love the game:

1. The experience of catching Pokémon

It's really fun to walk around and have them pop up on the map. It's a bit like playing the real game in real life, and the complexity of it is so nice. Certain weather types inspire different Pokémon, and different geographical locations have different common ones.

2. Gym battles

Being true to the game, you can go around and battle at gyms, and if you defeat them you can put your pokémon in one. This is a great way to attempt leveling up and the higher your level, the better pokémon you catch.

3. Hatching Eggs

I love this one because I usually end up forgetting about eggs hatching so it's always a nice surprise to have. Depending on the distance of your egg, you can hatch some pretty nice Pokémon, and they can end up being very useful to you.

4. Missions

In the game, you'll have multiple research missions that yield crazy cool prizes, and a few Legendary Pokémon. As long as your diligent with your tasks in the game, and work to achieve them, it'll be pretty easy to finish them, and you'll end up unlocking a quite cute, and quite mythical Pokémon.

5. New or Old Love for a Game

Whether you played Pokémon since you were little, or whether this is your first encounter with it, it really gets you into a complex, awesome series of games and shows. It gives you a fandom to be a part of that can connect you to new people, and I think that's a big part of the lure towards the game.

So go out and play, trainers! I promise you won't regret it, and if you do... well... its free so what are you really losing here?

After working retail seasonally, here are a few tips that I learned in order to make the employees at your favorite store just a little happier and not want to charge you extra on your purchase for being awful. Here are some times when you should be nicer to retail workers than you actually are!

5 Untold Struggles Of The Short Friend

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone
Youtube

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
