In our busy schedules of finishing schoolwork, doing chores, and checking social media, we don’t stop often enough to enjoy some fresh air. It’s finally May—summer time! No matter how much we’d rather watch Netflix, spending a day outside is so much more fun. Everyone benefits from a little bit of Vitamin D and the peacefulness of nature. You’ll be surprised how fun a Saturday can be when you spend it outside, enjoying the summer breeze.

1. Go for a hike.

Whether it’s a local neighborhood trail or an adventurous mountain climb, a hike is the ultimate way to enjoy some nice weather. Get together with a few friends because a cute photoshoot is always worth the climb.

2. Ride a bike.

Remember how fun bike-riding was as a kid? A sunny day is the perfect time to get out your old bike and go for a fun ride, perhaps down the street or through an urban park.

3. Play golf.

It doesn’t matter how skilled you are at the sport; grab a cart and go! From putt-putt to a full round, golf with friends is for sure an afternoon well-spent.

4. Explore a waterfall or river.

Time to get your swimsuit and adventure backpack and head to the water! Nothing is more refreshing after a hike than sliding down a waterfall or tubing down a local river.

5. Read outside.

Sometimes we just need a lazy day, but that doesn’t mean we have to stay cooped up inside. Instead, pick up a smoothie, a good book and a hammock and relax in the warm sunlight.

6. Go camping.

If you’re a little more adventurous, why not hit the trails overnight? With a fun-loving group of friends, this summer night is bound to make the best memories.

7. Take a walk.

All too often, we drive to stores that are only a few minutes away. On a beautiful sunny day, why not walk? Pick a fun destination, like an ice cream shop, and go!

8. Host an outdoor game night.

Your friends would be crazy to refuse a fun backyard game night in this ideal summer temperature. Complete with Corn Hole and S’Mores, your outdoor party will be a boatload of fun.

9. Go for a swim.

Who doesn’t love a refreshing day in the water? From pools to lakes to beaches, your summer options are endless, so go for it! Soak up the sun as you swim the day away.

10. Have a picnic.

When everybody contributes some yummy treats and a blanket, this is no ordinary day at the park. The outdoors have never felt so good, sipping on lemonade and hanging out with sweet friends.

For so much of the year, we stay cooped up indoors, forgetting the beautiful relaxation of nature. When the sun comes out and the breezes are wonderful, I challenge you to call up a few friends, gather a handful of snacks and go outside to enjoy summertime. You surely won’t regret it.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
