Taking steps to protect our planet may be easier than you think. Here are 15 simple ways to help re-energize the earth.

1. Recycle

Contact your local recycling center to figure out how you can start recycling today!

2. Reduce your showering time by 5 minutes every day.

As simple as it may seem, cutting out 5 minutes of running water each day will start to add up.

3. Use a microfiber cloth instead of paper towels.

Instead of wasting hundreds of paper towels every year, reusing and washing one towel is better for the earth and more cost effective.

4. Buy a solar-powered phone charger.

These range from around $12 - $60, and can even be found at your local Walmart. Plus, you can charge almost anywhere you go!

5. Reuse old printer paper.

Printing on the blank side of used printer paper not only helps the earth, but it helps your wallet as well!

6. Switch to two-wheel drive.

If the weather allows it, riding your bike is an easy way to get good exercise and reduce pollution.

7. Switch your light bulbs to compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs).

CFLs save energy while saving you money as well.

8. Air-dry your laundry.

This easy way to help the earth is also better for your clothes (no more shrinking!).

9. Watch your speed.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, speeding and rapid acceleration can lower your gas mileage by 33%.

10. Start reusing bags.

Instead of using plastic or paper bags when you visit the grocery store, bring your own reusable bags. Leave a few in your car so you don’t forget!

11. Fix it yourself.

When something breaks, try to fix it by yourself instead of buying a new one. Find that instruction manual or turn to google for the answers.

12. Unsubscribe from your junk mail.

Receiving unwanted mail results in a waste of paper and time.

13. Put down the blow dryer.

Air drying your hair saves both energy and time. It is also much healthier for your hair!

14. Start using travel mugs.

Replace your paper to-go coffee cups with a travel mug. This way, you’ll be saving the earth while keeping your coffee hot!

15. Utilize natural lighting.

Instead of turning on all of your lights in the middle of the day, open your blinds and windows.

You don't need to make drastic changes in order to live an environmentally-friendly lifestyle. It's simple, cost-effective, and beneficial for everyone!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
