Alright living in New England, you learn to accept that you are going to get snow at one point or another. Here are the five stages of snow.
First snow!
OMG! Yes, it is the first big snow of the winter, which means people forget how to drive, kids get off school leaving parents struggling to find something to do with their kids, and your thinking it's so pretty. I am driving in a winter wonderland and I can build a snowman. It's a perfect day for cuddling up with a book with your favorite blanket. Also, let's not forget it is perfect for those artistic photos that everybody is going to be putting up on Instagram.
Second snow!
Kids get the day off; they get to sleep in, relax, and some are even okay with going outside to shovel. Parents still struggle to find someone to watch the kids since their work shows no mercy for snow. Kids go outside and play. It's still a grand old time.
Third snow!
Alright, it's the third snow; we got this. You're stocked up ready for anything, got all your supplies, and you know you just have to wait it out. Kids get a little harder to deal with and parents just want to ship them back off to school. Kids get bored and out of control, plans get canceled and there's a long list of stuff that happens. This is when you flip from "winter isn't so bad" to "winter is just a mess".
Fourth snow!
Are you freaking kidding me?! This is when the love of snow turns into complete hatred. You become sick of snow and all that it stands for and as you look out on to your yard, you think all this snow will never melt and I am going to die in massive amounts of snow. Don't worry, it will melt. It might stay until next June, but it will melt.
Fifth snow!
That's it, I'm moving to California!
This is the struggle of living in New England during the winter months, but you know, even with all the snow and everything that comes during the winter I would not have it any other way.
