It is easy to get caught up in the world, to complain about life, and to forget to be thankful for the things life has given you. With Thanksgiving coming up this week, and Christmas just around the corner, I wanted to remind you of just a few reasons that you should be thankful for the life God has given you.
1. Over 59 million young children are denied the right to an education.
2. There are 36.7 million people in the world living with HIV/AIDS.
3. 40 percent of those people living with HIV/AIDS do not know their status.
4. More than 3.5 million people in the United States are homeless.
5. 23 percent of the US homeless population are military veterans.
6. There are 12.3 million people enslaved around the world.
7. There were 14,588 reports of human trafficking in the United States, in 2007 alone.
8. Approximately 4.5 million people are being sexually exploited.
9. 26 percent of human trafficking victims are children.
10. 14.5 million children in the United States live in poverty.
Unless you are among the above statistics, you have absolutely not reason not to be thankful this holiday season.
What were you complaining about?
"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful." Colossians 3:15
