The 5 Best Gluten Free Cookies You Can Buy Today

Whether you are looking for gluten free desserts because you have to (Hello, Gluten Intolerances!) or because you are wanting to try and dive into that New Year's resolution of eliminating gluten, these cookies are the ones for you. Having been diagnosed as celiac two years ago, I have spent the last 24 months seeking out delicious gluten free finds. Lucky for you, I have created the finest list of cookies the GF world has to offer. Look ahead for some of my personal favorites to curb your cookie cravings.

1. Sweet Loren's Cookie Dough:

Number one grabs this coveted title for several reasons. Sweet Loren's combines a childhood favorite of mine with gluten-free ingredients safely certified for any Celiac. Ever had those Pillsbury Place and Bake cookies? You know what I'm talking about… pumpkins at Halloween...Christmas trees at Christmas. Yup, those. Nothing beats getting together with friends and whipping up some fun shaped cookies or even the classic chocolate chip Place and Bakes. The reason why Sweet Loren's steals the number one spot is because these cookies are as close to the classic Pillsbury as anything I have ever had. Seriously, you gotta go try them. Flavors include a classic chocolate chip, a delicious sugar, and a fudge brownie flavor. These cookies reign supreme.

2. Goodie Girl Cookies:

The number two spot goes to Goodie Girl. Go ahead and think of every scrumptious flavor of store-bought cookie you can…. Chips Ahoy? Animal crackers? Fudge Stripes? Even Thin Mints! Goodie Girl's got em! They put a GF spin on all of your favorite, classic treats. And a bonus? They are actually delicious. Not to mention they can be found at many local groceries including Walmart and Target!

3. Tate's Bake Shop:

Tate's…..I mean what more can I say! This company has been a staple in my life both pre-celiac diagnosis as a typical wheat-filled cookie and now as a gluten free treat. You may have snacked on their crunchy cookies a time or two, but have you ever tried their GF alternatives? Probably not, and you are missing out! They have a selection of some very unique flavors including coconut! FYI, they make brownies too! Yum!

4. David's Cookies: This one is a bit more out there. The number four title goes to David's Cookies. I say that because David's is more of a wholesale brand, so they are harder to find. However, I could not make this cookie list and forget to include the most soft, gooey GF chocolate chip cookie the world has to offer. The way I found out about these cookies is quite a funny story. Basically, Disney World does GREAT with food allergies - that is a story for another day though. They always have alternate options for those eat gluten free, dairy free, and a multitude of other allergies. One of these options is a sweet treat at their local bake shop in the resorts and in the parks. David's just so happens to be the supplier for the giant allergy-friendly cookies they serve up at Disney. Post vacation, I did some googling and wholesale ordered their cookie dough, so I could whip up my own Disney-level treats. It was worth it!

5. Glutino: Last but certainly not least is the most classic GF cookie of them all - Glutino! This brand can be found literally anywhere, and they have a selection of yummy crunchy cookies- including mock GF Oreos! These are my staple for when I am craving an Oreo. I will say, though, that Oreo themselves recently made their own version of certified gluten free cookies, so I will have to go check those out soon once I can get my hands on some! But for now, Glutino is the way to go!

Bonus! Better Bites Bakery: I know… I know… you thought I was done. But, I could not leave off my very favorite bakery - Better Bites! Better Bites Bakery is incredibly allergy friendly (including GF, duh), and it is delicious! They also are recently available in some select stores. I know this is a cookie article, so the reason why this is a bonus is because they are not quite cookies….I promise it is close though! Maybe even better! It's cookie dough! Go check out their dough bites. There are several delicious cookie dough flavors, and not to mention, they coat them in a thick chocolate shell. Snickerdoodle, chocolate chip, sunflower butter (peanut butter vibes but allergy-friendly), and my personal favorite, birthday cake!

You might be craving a cookie now after reading this. My suggestion? Go to your local grocery, and go pick up one of these 6 delicious GF products right now!

Happy snacking!

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead.
