Global warming has been the biggest topic and controversy throughout the whole world. Efforts have been put into place in trying to control global warming, but it’s still not enough. I believe that there is still a chance in saving the earth that we were given to live and it is important that we take care of the one thing we seriously need in order to live. My opinion is that we can change three things as well as implement them into our daily lives. Those three implementations are solar panels to power our houses, buildings, cars, schools and so on. Second, we can transform our cars to run on electricity. Lastly, we can stop throwing trash on the streets and recycle.

Using solar panel power can be very beneficial to our community and improve how we use energy. Using oil and gas to heat our homes creates a lot of pollution in the air, and continuously using this type of energy has caused the globe to warm up. This causes stronger storms and unhealthy air to be in the atmosphere. Using solar panel energy would also benefit everyone because the oil and gas that is used can be saved for something more important. I strongly believe that most of the pollution caused on earth is by burning gas and oil. This is why I think that changing energy sources can be a good step in the right direction. It would be smarter to use solar panels during the day when the sun shines since it won’t be able to be used at night for the fact that the sun will go down. That is when oil and gas energy can be used. Hopefully, the government realizes the importance of this and make a larger effort to transform our energy to where a bigger percentage of energy production is through solar panels.

There are more than one billion cars that run on a daily basis, and being that they run on gas, they are a big contributor to the air pollution that is affecting our environment. Even though I am a car owner myself I strongly agree that cars should be transformed to run on electricity. There are several ways that this can be done; the government can set up shops around the country that specialize in transforming vehicles into electrically engineered cars. They can give out rewards to anyone that goes through with the process that way people can be motivated in doing so. Some may counterclaim that it would be hard to charge the cars, but I suggest that either the cars grabs its electric energy through solar panels that are put on top of the car. After that at night when the car can no longer use it, they can charge cars at charging station. Even if one doesn’t use a charging station they can always use their home's energy to charge their cars. I think this strategy would greatly reduce the amount of air pollution that is constantly affecting our environment.

Littering is a big issue of concern towards global warming as well. When garbage is thrown onto the streets, the chemicals of the item go into the air after the sun hits it. This also causes the air's pollution level to go up places like landfills and garbage disposals play a part in littering. Even though efforts have been made to change that for example recycling companies and supermarkets that have machines where people can throw their cans in exchange for money. I think that everyone should recycle and use anything they can to reuse it for example plastic cups can be washed and re-used.

In conclusion everyone should make an effort to implement something that is “green” so that we can save our earth that was given to us slowly but surely. It is important that everyone stands up and develops individual task so that everyone will be motivated to do something. I am absolutely positive that if everyone “steps up to the plate” and disregard going the easy way, that our earth will one day be restored and saved.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
