Apple has recently released the highly anticipated specs on the iPhone 7. The buzz surrounding its possible features has been the talk of the year. Does it have a headphone jack? Did the shape change? Is it bigger? What new accessories are being released for it?

The world has been on edge about the release of the new iPhone but there are others who feel like their current iPhone works just fine. So why get a new one? Well it seems as if Apple makes sure we have no choice but to upgrade! Many have noticed that their current iPhone 6-6s and older versions have started to “glitch.” Screens will go blank, batteries will die at 12 percent and apps force shut down which causes the phone itself to shut completely off. Curious minds pose the question, “Is Apple purposely causing a glitch in systems in older models or is it really just a glitch?” Honestly, the world may never know!

In a special presentation on Wednesday at the Bill Graham Auditorium in San Francisco, Apple’s chief executive, Tim Cook, presented the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus. In his presentation he answered just about every question there was about the new iPhone. He touched on new features, features that were removed as well as many updates that Apple was proud to announce.

Many may not know that although the iPhone is Apple’s abundant revenue producer, their iPhone sales are declining. Not to mention, they are competing with innovative companies such as Samsung who has also recently released their new Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

The new iPhone 7 comes with a plethora of new features. Surprisingly, the 7 is now water-resistant and that's probably the best feature they could have added. In addition to that it also comes equipped with a new dual-lens camera for all of those aspiring photographers out there. The iPhone 7 comes with a 7 megapixel front camera and the 7 Plus comes with two 12 megapixel back cameras. The new home button also has some newness to it. As reported by Apple, it now has a force sensitivity which will vibrate to give users feedback.

These new features have proved to be pretty cool but the most important concern for iPhone holders was the disappearing of the headphone jack. That's right folks, the iPhone’s sleek design will no longer include the headphone jack. Although Apple has decided the opt out of the beloved headphone jack, they are providing users with alternatives. The iPhone 7 will include EarPods that plug into the iPhone's lightning connector — the same port used to charge your phone. It will also bundle an adaptor that allows users to still use their old 3.5mm headphones.

While Apple has provided alternatives for ear buds, their most prized possession are the Apple AirPods that will be available for purchase in the fall. The AirPods can be purchased for the whopping price of $159! The AirPods are said to have a 5 hour battery life in between charges. With that being said, the actual release of the iPhone 7 should produce some pretty interesting reviews!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
