I'm Blessed

Giving Thanks
The Huffington Post

Since Thanksgiving was this past Thursday I think it's a good idea to step back and give thanks to all the blessings in my life. The first thing I would like to give thanks for is my wonderful family. They are my number one supporters and are always there whenever I need them. The next blessing in my life is my three dogs even though they are a part of my family I want to give a special shoutout to my dogs. They always give me a warm welcome when I come home and it's so good to see them after not seeing them for so long. Another thing I would like to give thanks for is my friends I am blessed to have such loyal friends I can't imagine meeting such a great group of friends. They make me a better person and I know that I can count on them and can continue to count on them for a long time. The next blessing in my life is my education and it is partly because of my parents. I'm so privileged to be able to attend the school I'm at and that I can continue my education and pursue my dream. My final blessing is my health I am thankful for my good health. I have rarely gotten sick this year and its a true blessing. Another factor to my health is my new liver. Its been almost 12 years and I've never had a problem before. There are many things I'm thankful for but these are just a few of them.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
