Giving My Thanks

"Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever."

It's nearly here!

That time of year where we all sit around big tables with our families and make little speeches about what we're thankful for.

This is my absolute favorite holiday, guys. I am so beyond blessed in my life.

I'm blessed to be able to be sitting in my room, at home with both my parents while I'm typing this article right now.

I'm blessed to have been able to talked to my older brother and my niece today.

I'm blessed that my grandparents are healthy and well.

I'm blessed to know that the loved ones that have left this earthly world are looking down at me from Heaven with our God.

I'm blessed to have a God that continues to love and forgive me even though I let Him down.

I'm blessed to have a large and amazing family that support me in the decisions I've made; even when they haven't been the best decisions.

I'm blessed to have met some amazing people who have lightened my life through letting me into theirs.

I'm blessed to be able to share my blessings with all of you right now.

I suppose I should change all of those "blessed" to "thankful." I'm thankful for those blessings: for the blessings that have been undeservedly been bestowed upon me. I'll never understand why I deserve these things, but I'm not sure that I'm supposed to understand it all. God has loved me and all of us since before we even existed on this planet. His unyielding love is the biggest blessing that has ever been bestowed upon me.

In Isaiah 49:16, we're assured: "See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me." And John 10:28 "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand." With these two simple, little verses, God has declared that we're part of Him. We're permanent ornaments of His skin and He will not allow us to be taken from Him. How amazing! How spectacular to actually be a part of the perfection and greatness that is our God Almighty.

I am thankful for the life God has made for me. I'm thankful, most of all, for my parents and my older brother and my niece. With these four other people, I know that we can conquer absolutely anything. It's us against the world. Always. I know that beyond a shadow of a doubt, God knew that I was going to need their wisdom, strength, understanding and love throughout this life. I have absolutely no idea what I would do without them.

This holiday season, I just wanted to express my utmost appreciation to my Father for giving me this life. This life and every single person, trial, triumph, obstacle and victory that He's given me. Thank you, God, for everything you do for my family and I each and every day.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
