To The One With The Giving Heart

I give to others because I know how it feels to be given nothing.

If you know me, you probably know I have a giving heart. I give to the point that I will go without to make someone else happy. Having a giving heart is a blessing and a curse, it’s something I’ve grown to learn the pros and cons about. Sometimes you have to learn lessons the hard way, but that will never change who I am. I will give you all of my time, resources, money, talents, love, everything I have to offer. People call me crazy, a push over, tell me I need to stop worrying about others and put myself first for once, but I wouldn’t change the way I am for anything.

I know I get used at times. Hell, probably a lot of the time, I’ll let myself get used and just complain about it later and wonder what is wrong with me but the very next second I could see someone in need and not bat an eye. Being a giver comes with a few downfalls but overall it is the most overwhelming genuine feeling of happiness you’ll ever feel. I can’t tell you how many times just a simple act of kindness that took such little effort on my part made someone’s day better.

I believe there are takers and there are givers in this world and I am proudly a giver. I am not saying this for acknowledgment or praise I am simply proud of the small impact I have had because I was blessed with a giver's heart. At times, takers will suck everything out of you to the point that you question why you do the things you do. You think, is it really worth it? YES! It is worth it. It’s so worth it because one day that person who took everything they could take from you will look back and think, wow that person really cared about me and wanted more for me than I wanted for myself, maybe I should try to give back to someone else in the same way. I think that’s how people become givers.

Good people are like candles, they burn themselves up to give others light.

Always remember to, cling to what is good. Romans 12:9

I give to others because I know how it feels to be given nothing.

A givers goal is to add value to another’s life and to help others see the potential that they may not see in themselves.

Don’t be afraid to be the one who loves and gives the most.

Don’t give to get, give to inspire others to give.

So to all of you givers out there, never stop giving. The world needs more of you, lending a hand, giving a smile and being a genuinely nice person. You are amazing in so many ways and you don't even know it. Knowing that the same thing that brings you the most joy also brings you the most pain, always think about the times you brought joy to someone who needed it and always know you are appreciated by someone.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.
