Give EDM Festivals A Chance

This past summer I attended my first EDM Festival. Yes, I was terrified, and no I am not your typical bass head. I definitely tend to listen to more country than EDM. But my world changed when I attended Summer Set Music Festival, in Somerset, WI.

Leading up to the festival I did some research on what to expect, there was a ton of mixed messages from people, I didn’t know what to think. I am a pretty open minded person when it comes to music, so I just thought to go with the flow.

My experience at the festival was like no other. I have never been in an environment where there were so many people accepting of themselves and each other. Each day was a new experience, I talked to and met people I would have never thought in a million years I could connect with on any level! I was told it’s the magic of the festival. Which in my mind I was like “ya whatever”, but as the weekend went on I realized it was a magical place.

Now I can’t say my whole experience relied on the magic alone. I went with some of my best friends, and we camped in a group of 20 plus people. I suggest doing so! Experiencing something as amazing as the festival was made 10 times better since I could also experience it with some of my favorite people.

So to give it plain and simple it’s time to stop judging EDM Festivals and give them a chance, because if I wasn't opened minded about the experience I had, it would have been completely different. Now I am not saying you have to because everyone is open to their own opinions, I just suggest keeping an open mind to new music because you never know what you’re going to end up with.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
