Thanksgiving often gets overlooked by many people. Nobody thinks it is a very big or important holiday. Maybe that is because it is so close to Christmas, but it should still not get overlooked. Here are some reasons you should appreciate Thanksgiving a little more.

This is a whole holiday dedicated to eating which is an American's dream. You get to eat as much as you want, and nobody judges you for it. There's always so much good home cooked food that you get to enjoy, from the turkey to the mashed potatoes to the cranberry sauce. The food alone is enough to be thankful for.
2. The parade
It is always fun to wake up and watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in the morning. There are a lot of cool parade floats and performances by today's most popular artists, and performances by cheerleaders and dancers, including the Rockettes.

The day after Thanksgiving comes black Friday, the day when every store in America has massive sales for everyone to start their Christmas shopping. It is the kickoff to the Christmas season and is what makes it really feel like the holidays are among us.

It seems that during the holidays every family has some sort of family tradition during the holidays, whether it be the breaking of the wishbone or going around the table and saying the things you are thankful for, it can even be as simple as your distant relatives coming over, but every family has their traditions.
