If you give a college student a dog, you just might notice a shift in everyone's mood around them. When a dog is in the area, everyone wants to pet and play with them. A dog helps students to get their mind off all of their responsibilities for a period of time and just focus on the happiness that dogs seem to radiate. Dogs have a way of making life's problems seem unimportant or a lot smaller than they originally seemed. A simple tail wag and a scratch between the ears is enough to make most people fall in love.

If you show a college student a picture of a dog, they will feel an automatic sense of home. Most kids are away from home for the first time so seeing their dog is a rarity. This is when the use of social media kicks in, allowing the student to follow dog Instagram pages or be sent pictures of their dog from home. Although not having your dog nearby can be hard at times, taking advantage of your school's dog days when they bring dogs onto campus can help a college student not feel so homesick. Another method that helps is having a soft stuffed animal. It is not the exact same thing, but you will find some of the comfort that you are searching for.

If you let a college student meet your dog, you will without a doubt make their day. Being around an actual dog helps college students relieve stress. Dogs have a way of dissipating stress because they are so full of life. Dogs want attention on them and they are cute enough to earn it. There are many benefits to having dogs around college students. On campus it can seem very drab to go about the day that is focused on academics and extracurriculars. It sucks when the only animals most students see are the squirrels and birds. When a dog is being walked around campus, it automatically brings a feeling of life. All of the students want to meet the dog and give it a pat or two.

College is a hard time for most students. There is the stress of making good grades, dealing with social situations, working a job to pay for college, balancing extracurriculars, and maybe even playing a sport. All of those factors are also included in the impending future. College students live in a constant state of stress. The simple matter of having a dog on campus for the students to be around helps to lighten the atmosphere. Being around a dog helps students to realize that life was meant to be enjoyed and to enjoy the little things.

If you let a college student be around a dog, expect there to be a lot of happiness coming from both parties.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
