Dear Anne,
I want to thank you. Thank you for being an inspiration of strength and hope. I read your diary first the first time when I was twelve years old. Your life must have been really difficult, I can't imagine going through what you did.
You and your family must have had to remain in hiding for a long time. I just want to tell you that your diary has reached the bookshelves of millions, including my own. Every time I read it, I am looking at the Holocaust through your eyes...something that I will never take for granted. You were and still are heard today.
You were a star that was gone too soon. You deserved the right to live a long life. No one should be taken from this world the way you were. I love your determination, tenacity, and ever present optimism throughout your life.
You may be gone now, but you will live in the hearts of millions forever.
Love,
Erika
