If you're new to girls, you probably think that there are only two types of girls: the introvert and the extrovert. But you don't know how wrong you can possibly be. Girls come in all shapes and sizes, and there isn't even only 10 types of girls in college (well, depends on which college you go to. Theatre colleges only have one type of girl, the type that wants to succeed and perform well, the type that tries to wow crowds and earn scholarships to Hollywood).

But besides theatre college, regular college is a jungle. There are the types of girls that you don't notice, and there are the types of girls you do. But which one is right for you? Here, you can find out the types of girls in Stony Brook!

1. The Party Girl

She is the girl that you would want to invite anywhere. She attracts all the alpha males from miles away. She's got that energy that is contagious, anyone who is friends with her or who has just met her wants to know more about her. But one thing is for certain: she never wants to stop partying. And maybe you'll realize she never really wants to have fun without having a thousand alcohol bottles in her hand, or a roll of weed.

2. The Nerdy Girl

She is that girl that you would go to tutor you. In fact, the worst thing ever possible is that she is that girl that gets friend zoned, because of not being "that attractive," or for being "too smart," or "too good." She's that girl that shows up to class with a blouse, skirt, and flats that wants to appear professional for her teachers. But, people must know, she is the go-to-girl if you wanna learn a worth of semester class notes in one night. She will let you succeed.

3. The Feminist

She is....that girl. Yea, you know what I'm talking about. The one who will defend women at all costs. I know there are different types of feminists, but I am just going to talk about one type of feminist for now. The one who thinks she is the best. The one who thinks she's the best type of woman, the one that thinks she can lead all women away from all men, and women-haters because women are the superior gender. She will argue with you, she will yell at you, she will judge you if you insult her... or women... even a tiny bit.

4. The Geeky Girl

If you thought comic con was just a guy thing, the geeky girl will prove you wrong. There is no one else that is more dedicated to making costumes for the once in a lifetime comic adventure, no one else who will memorize one of her favorite superheroes quotes and recite them to you, no one else who will be as dedicated and committed to her favorite TV show, and will absolutely fight you if you offend her in any way. She is usually stubborn, playful, adventurous, introverted (until you get to really know her), adorable, and tries really hard to fit in. But she is unique. No one else can be like her.

5. The Athletic Girl

Every guy turns their heads as she walks into the gym. Not only is she well built, but she is head-strong and builds good goals for herself. She is the one girl who got that masculinity in herself and knows it too. She is that Instagrammer that makes every girl double check themselves in the mirror and gaze at their visible insecurities. You will admire her, knowing that you cannot have her unless you're also a bodybuilder and has more than 1K followers on Instagram.

6. The Artist

She has a dark past. She spends most of her time in her room to express herself in different ways. Whether it's by drawing, painting, taking photos, singing, dancing, doing yoga, or something as small as people-watching or going on walks. Mostly introverts, artist girls can be hipsters, refusing to accept the norm, wanting to find her own individuality because they want to be someone who cannot easily be replaced.

7. The Nice Girl

She is there for you when you need someone to cry on. She is there for your homework. Not to be confused with the nerdy girl, she is just attractive enough to date, but she doesn't believe that anyone is trying to ask her out. She views guys' gestures as "nice," and puts them in the friend zone. She is down to earth, chill, open-minded, kind-hearted, and when she realizes she's been leading people on, she regrets it and tries to be open to the idea of dating. Little does she know, she is always too late to figure that out...

8. The Fake Girl

She has a split personality. One day, she is nice to you, another day, she is looking at you as if you're someone she found from a sewer. Like Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girls, she is just looking for people who can boost her reputation and if you want to be her friend, you have to be willing to face obstacles just to break through to her true nature. The truth is that, beneath every fake girl, there is a real girl that is wanting to come out and show everyone who she can truly be. But society's expectations do not let her.

9. The Flirty Girl

If you're the typical nice guy, don't confuse this girl to have an interest in you, because most likely, she doesn't. She is just looking for some fun and sees life as a game. She sees relationships as a game, and she will not settle down for a long time. Her flirtatious nature can help her score any guy, but some of us see her true nature. We know what she's looking for, but the guys she's flirting with probably does not. They fall quickly into her charm and get pulled in before it's too late.

10. The Tomboy

These types of girls can be hard to find because they aren't regular girls. They get along with everyone and they have typical street fashion who refuse to be characterized as one thing. They are fine with playing sports, and usually, do not focus on looking super nice in the morning. They see makeup as fake, and they believe in being genuine. However, these girls usually do not fit in with other girls, and they prefer the company of guys instead.

And there you have it: the girls of Stony Brook.

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.

11 Things We Learned From Brooke Davis

"What's more important? What we become or how we become it?"

Brooke Davis

"She was fiercely independent, Brooke Davis. Brilliant, and beautiful, and brave. In two years she had grown more than anyone I had ever known. Brooke Davis is going to change the world someday, and I'm not sure she even knows it." - Lucas Scott, An Unkindness of Ravens

Brooke Davis of the hit show One Tree Hill was the it girl - she had it all, or so we thought. She started out as a stuck-up, shallow, spoiled, head cheerleader who didn't have her life together. She slept around a lot and loved to party - sounds like your typical high school teenager right? Wrong. B. Davis had so much more to offer. Caring, loyal, and outspoken, she has taught us some valuable lessons throughout the 9 seasons that OTH was on the air:

We all have a person, and when that person makes some new friends, we tend to forget all the great things that can come out of it. Never forget how special they are to you and why you are best friends.
