The secret bond behind friendship

Why Girls Need Girls
Jalyn Cox

There's nothing wrong with the girl who says, "I have only guy friends because girls are too much drama." There is nothing wrong with having guy friends, but if you believe that girls are "too much" drama, you just need to find some new girl friends. There are just some things you just can't talk about with your "guy friends".

Everyone needs to appreciate your girlfriends and hold them close. There will be good and bad days, but at the end of the day, the real good girlfriends will be around through it all. You need people you can depend on. You need people that you can trust with things you don't even trust yourself with. You need those people that can make you smile on your worst days, and listen to you tell the same damn story over and over again until you feel better. You need people that will be there for you through it all.

I mean there will be people you fall astray from, but the people who really matter will always be there and around when you need them most. They will be your number one fan and motivator. They will push you to be the very best you can be, and watch you grow from the very beginning to end.

Girls need girls because you need a gang of warriors on your side, and who better than the girls that are by your side through it all. You need people that are there for you because the moment you have no one is the moment you'll fall apart. You need a strong web of people who will protect, listen, and guard you. Also when it isn't you against the world, it's nice to have friends that talk to you and keep it real. They have no reason to impress you, they aren't trying to get anything out of you. The compliments they bless you with is real, and comes from an honest genuine palce. The words of wisdom they give you are covered with nothing of truth and past experiences. If they are true they are there for you. They are like your family without the contract of forcing them to stay by your side.

The best feeling in the world is knowing people are there for you, and the second best feeling in the world is being there for the people you care about.

On the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf is an icon. She's what every girl aspires to be. She's beautiful, confident, and can handle any obstacle that life throws at her. Sure, she may just be a television character. But for me, she's a role model and theres a lot that can be learned from Queen B.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
