Maroon 5's newest music video to 'Girls Like You' only came out 2 weeks ago and yet it already has 158 million views. They are known for their unique music videos, such as crashing weddings during their hit, 'Sugar'. However, 'Girls Like You' has already scored million's of people's hearts, especially mine. And here is why.

This music video is known for showcasing many popular female celebrities, journalists, models, and activists, from popular talk show host Ellen Degeneres to Olympic gymnast Ally Raisman. Of course, lead singer Adam Levine even included his wife, Behati Prinsloo. Before watching this video, one would expect all of the featured women to look the same: white skin, blonde hair, skinny, and supermodel-like. I felt the same as well- 'ANOTHER video with the same looking women?' Maroon 5 definitely exceeded my expectations.

'Girls Like You' includes women of ALL races, religions, sizes, and looks. It's so important that everyone sees how much we need diversity, and argues that all women are beautiful. When I looked at all of these women, I saw nothing but pure beauty, and couldn't help but think 'Oh my gosh, she's so gorgeous. I wish I had the confidence she has'.

We need to realize that all women are beautiful. Race, religion, etc. don't matter. Frankly, I applaud Maroon 5 for the decision to include a variety of women, not just the typical women. I believe that more diversity=more power. No matter who we are, we have the ability to change the world and ourselves. All women are strong regardless of the way we look. All women must work together to make a change, to make a difference.

As women, we can not let others look down on us. As shown by all the women featured in the video, they have all been successful. Some are well-known activists. Some are famous comedians. A few are popular authors. Women aren't meant to stay at home to take care of their children and wash the dishes. Women are meant to put themselves out there and show they world what they've got. Women are more powerful than one may think, and this video shows just that.

This is why Maroon 5 made my heart melt. That's another point for them in my book.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

Obsessive Thoughts Keep My Brain Stuck On A Loop And Me Stuck On My Couch

Sometimes my brain just starts turning on an idea and it doesn't want to stop.

I don't know if it is related to my anxiety, perfectionism or depression. I don't know why it happens. It's frustrating, it's painful and it stops me from functioning.

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.
