The transition from high school to college can be tricky, but be prepared for your college experience to be amazing! Everyone has to go through this transition, so you are not alone. I never got a "guide to college," so I tried my best to think of the top five things girls need to know when going to college. I hope college is everything you hoped it would be and it is the time of your life!

1. You are not going to have everything figured out.

Don't expect to go to college and have everything be perfect. You may not like your roommates at first, classes may be super tough, and you may not meet a cute boy right away. It will all be okay! As college goes along and you get older, things will slowly fall into place. You will look back and laugh about all the silly things you stressed about Freshman year! Even though you wont have everything figured out, college is such a great place to start finding who you are and figuring out what and who you want be/do with life.

2. College IS the best four years of your life.

I am only a junior, but college has been such an amazing experiencce for me. You meet so many new people, you get the freedom and independence you have always wanted, and you get to make these four years the most amazing four years of your life! College is NOTHING like high school, so if you didnt have the best time in high school, dont worry! The best part about going to college is you get to write this chapter of your life however you want, so enjoy it!

3. Focus on school, but HAVE FUN.

In my freshman year, I made the mistake of putting WAY too much time into school and not really enjoying college. Don't get me wrong, school is very important, but make sure you are enjoying your college experience also. Meet up with your friends on your lunch break, go to that cute boys' party you were invited to, go to sporting events! These four years are going to FLY by so enjoy every second of college!

4. Don't sign up for everything your first year.

There are so many opportunities to join clubs, sororities, teams, etc. in college. A lot of people will find a lot of things that interest them and sign up for everything not realizing how much time this will take out of your life. In my Freshman year, I joined a sorority, four clubs, and even tried to do intramurals all while going to school and working. Although I loved everything I was in, I saw that I couldn't put the time and effort I wanted into school. My advice would be pick two activities you are very interested in and stick with those until you can get in the groove of college.

5. Be yourself and focus on YOU.

College is full of diverse individuals and you will fit in somewhere. This is your time to show off the amazing person that you are and be yourself without being judged. This is also the time to figure out you. Don't worry about finding a boyfriend or making a bunch of new friends right away. Take some alone time every so often to just think about what you want to portray yourself as and how you want to live your life. From here on out (whether you like it or not) you are on your own and its your turn to make your life a beautiful one.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
