The 4 Reasons Why I Have 4 Different Kinds of Deodorant

In This Article:

Disclaimer: Usually I only have 3, but my sister gave me some spray deodorant that she never used so now I have 4 kinds.

Don't judge me for sweating a lot.

1. The Strong Boi

A strong-scented, solid-color deodorant is what I would look for when buying my "strong" deodorant. This one is what I use when I go to work or if I think I'm going to stress sweat a lot because there is nothing worse than going to an important event and being able to smell your own sweat. I might not love the scent that this one emits, but as long as it's strong and long-lasting, then I'll use it.

2. The Everyday Stick

As the name implies, this is what I would regularly wear when I'm not worried about stress-sweating or potentially getting white stains on my darker-colored clothing. Typically, my deodorant for this category is something that smells very good and is a solid color (almost always white). Sometimes the best smelling ones aren't the most useful, which is why I use them on casual days.

3. The Clear Container

Using a clear gel deodorant can be handy when wearing a dark colored top. Or if you're going sleeveless and don't want anyone to see the white deodorant residue. You know, those weird "crumbs" of deodorant that get stuck in the creases of your underarm. However, I've noticed that I generally have to reapply my gel deodorant because it doesn't last nearly as long as my solid stuff does.

4. The Spray Can

I used canned spray deodorant once in middle school and liked it well enough back then, but now I'm not too fond of it. However, my sister gave me her can after she had already opened it, and I'm not going to let some perfectly good deodorant go to waste, so I'll be using it for the foreseeable future. This stuff is dangerous because if you use too much, you're likely to end up inhaling it (similar to when you accidentally "eat" perfume or cologne) and believe me when I say that it smells much better than it tastes. Terrible taste aside, it smells pretty good, but it doesn't seem to last very long, so I am no longer a fan of it.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

Obsessive Thoughts Keep My Brain Stuck On A Loop And Me Stuck On My Couch

Sometimes my brain just starts turning on an idea and it doesn't want to stop.

I don't know if it is related to my anxiety, perfectionism or depression. I don't know why it happens. It's frustrating, it's painful and it stops me from functioning.

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.
