Mothers everywhere are sharing their opinions about a new controversial topic: Whether or not it's a good idea to glue bows onto the heads of babies in order to make identifying their gender easier. Some mothers absolutely love the idea and they think it's an easy way to make their babies look cute and feminine. Others just don't care for the idea of putting glue on a baby's head and don't want anything to do with it. Those that don't do this, though, seem to harshly criticize the parents that do.
Now before you start worrying about people using super glue to put bows onto their children, you might want to know what they're actually using - Girlie Glue.
Girlie Glue is a sticky paste made out of agave nectar and water (which makes it chemical free and organic) and is easy to wash out with water or can be wiped off with baby wipes. However, the idea of gluing accessories onto female babies (which is what Girlie Glue is geared towards) doesn't seem right to some people.
Don't get me wrong, I think bows and headbands on babies are really cute. However, I personally do not see the appeal in gluing a bow to a baby's head just so people can identify the gender. What's the point? Most babies look like cute little potatoes anyway. There's just no sense in putting a bow on a potato.
I looked up the product reviews on Amazon and they are overwhelmingly positive. 91% of customers gave a five-star review. While scrolling through the reviews, I found that not only are parents using Girlie Glue on their human babies but on their furry children as well.
I saw how pet moms and dads used the product on their fur-babies and they absolutely love it! The glue seems to stick better on animals than it does human babies because animals have more hair for the glue to stick. If this is something you might be interested in, it makes for incredibly adorable pictures of your favorite dog or cat. From what I've read, you can also just as easily get the glue left over in your baby's fur as other parents get the glue out of their human baby's hair (again, with warm water or baby wipes). Perhaps the inventor of Girlie Glue is marketing the product towards the wrong group.
