I am here to tell you that there is nothing wrong with not knowing where you are going in life. Sometimes you go through difficult times in your life that make you wonder if you are ever going to make it through. Once you do, you look at yourself, and you have become stronger.

Depending on the challenges you had to face, you lose yourself in overcoming them. You get out of it alive, but you are a little lost. You have lost track of your goals. You have lost track of what is really important. You have neglected those who have always stood by you.

There is a lack of self-awareness that at that point, you have no idea if you are going to get it back or not. You question the world around you because that is what you had to do during your difficult time. At this point, you also have no idea what people have your best interest in mind. You forgot how to trust those you should and learned how to guard yourself in order not to get hurt any more than you have been.

There are so many emotions rolling around in your mind, and you do not know what to do with them. One day you are as happy as can be, and in a flip of a switch, you become a completely different person you do not recognize. You keep asking yourself why this is happening to you. To tell you the truth, I do too. The only explanation that comes to mind is that of what you keep telling yourself. The hurt and pain you went through have only left open wounds that have no timeline of when they will be ready to heal.

At the end of the day, hopefully, you have been taught a lesson through your tough experience. When the day comes and you have completely healed, hopefully, you are able to look at yourself the same way. You deserve the world, and one day you will have it in your hands when you feel confident enough to go out and conquer it.

Once that happens, never again will you see life with the same painful eyes. You will then learn that you are the most amazing person that you can be and nothing can ever change that again.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
