Having a guy best friend definitely has its perks as well as its downfalls, but the one thing you know for certain is that in the end they are always there for you. They will have always have your back and teach you to be a more bold, confident, and even silly, version of yourself.
1. Life doesn’t always have to be so serious
You are constantly laughing and being obnoxiously loud, in public might I add, and you don't really care
who is silently judging you. It is all about fun and laughter when you are together.
2. He has almost all the answers when it comes to those non-girly things
Besides your dad, he's your go to when you have any questions about sports or why your car is making that weird noise again.
3. You’ve grown to become thicker-skinned
For instance, those little, snarky comments that used to hurt your feeling, but now you respond with one right back. Just like having a brother.
4. Expectations of looking nice when you hang out with him are thrown out of the window
"Yeah you can come over, but my hair is a mess and I'm still in my pajamas."
5. You're his personal wing-woman
You know him better than anyone else, so you know exactly what kind of girl is his type and have maybe even tried to set him up with one of your new friends.
6. Everyone assumes you’re dating
"Oh you and *fill in name here* aren't dating??" Umm no...but spending almost every moment together probably doesn't help.
7. You probably do some things that are quite "couple-ish"
You go to the gym and out to eat with each other, scratch each other's backs, and maybe even cuddle a little, but it is all in the package deal of your friendship.
8. He’s one of the first to know when you think a guy is cute
You feel the need to tell him about any potential guy because he knows how to decode any ambiguous messages and will give you the best advice on how to respond to those awkward boy texts. After all, he is a guy.
9. Any potential boyfriend has to vibe well with him
He's your best friend and you would never give him up for some guy. That's best friend code, duh.
10. He’s seen you ugly cry
He's seen you ugly cry about something as small as McDonald's being out of ice cream or a cute puppy and didn't judge you for it at all. Now that my friend, is true friendship.
