The Girl With The Big Heart

The one the world needs, but is lenient to accept.

The Girl With The Big Heart
Nature of Human Kind

She is the one who is always there, even when they aren't there for her. She is the girl who takes the hurt and suffers the blame to keep others from feeling pain. She wears her heart on her sleeve and puts everything out there, even though she has been broken in her past. She keeps fighting because she wants to see the good, even if it seems bad. She is the one who takes the harmful words and stays strong through the rumors because she knows that retaliating makes her just as bad of a person. She is the girl who loves so deeply and uncontrollably that she falls faster than she can run. She is the one that stands up for herself, but still ends up being the "bad guy".

She is the girl in the hall helping you pick up your books and not expecting a 'thank you'. She is the one who reaches out to others when she knows they need a hug or even just an open ear. She is the girl who does not let the "mean clique" in her head. She is the girl who pushes herself for her family and most importantly, for her. She is the "liked" girl you think is stuck up, but are deceived when you find out she is far from it. She is the girl you want as a friend because she would do anything for you. She is the girl who has been hurt over and over again, but still forgives.

She is the girl who cries during worship. She is the one who shoots for the stars and chases it when it is released. She is the one with a ton of friends, but only a few really close to her heart. She is the one helping mom in the kitchen and dad with the pool filter. She is the one exploring with her little sister because she will always be her first best friend. She is the next generation of love.

She is the girl spending her last dollar of her pay check on a man in rugged jeans on the side of the street. She is the one who leaves a 21 percent tip on the table because she knows every little bit counts. She is the one who visits her great grandma a few days a week just to hear her laugh and see her sweet smile. She is the one there to listen to your boy/girl problems at three in the morning. She is the one holding your hand when a family member passes. She is the girl who brings you pudding when you can't feel your mouth after your wisdom teeth appointment. She is your best friend through it all, even after being stabbed in the back. She is the girlfriend who documents every moment because she wants to be able to live in it forever. She is the love the world needs, but does not want to accept.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
