It's all about getting to wear scarfs and mittens.

If you’re reading this, you may also get excited to the point of jumping up and down when it snows. For me, I get this overly-excited when snow is forecasted, when it is the first of November, or when it starts to get chilly outside. Ever since I was little, I was told that I am warm-blooded, simply because I’m never cold. You can catch me wearing a pair of shorts and tennis shoes in the dead of Winter, in Michigan. During cold, fall soccer games, I would be the only one wearing just our short-sleeved jersey and shorts. You can catch me saying "I would much rather be cold than hot" religiously. More times than not, I will be the mysterious person that turns down the heat in my dorm. I always sleep with the window open, even if it is below zero outside.

How you know if you love snow:

You’re itching for Winter to come.

It might have just turned Spring, or you’ve experienced one week of 70-degree weather, but you’re ready for Winter.

You eat snow.

No, not the yellow or brown. The soft, white snow that has just fallen can be sure to be eaten by you. Whether you eat it in a cup, bowl or just in the palm of your hand, it’s still one of the reasons you love Winter.

With that, everyone judges you on the fact that you eat snow.

I can’t count how many times someone has hardcore judged me for eating snow. The response is always, “it’s just frozen water.” That it is.

Sledding.

If you live in the little township of Oregon in Michigan, you’ve undoubtedly heard of Deadman’s Hill. This insanely steep hill, off a banged-up dirt road, five minutes from my residence is where you’ll find me in the Winter. Make sure you are ready for a day of fun, sort of like a trip to Cedar Point. This hill gives you insane heights of adrenaline, fear and laughter.

You own more than one pair of snow pants.

If you love Winter, love sledding or snowboarding, you own more than one pair of snow pants. This is because you tend to go at least twice a week during the snowy months. I, personally, don’t own any snow pants, but I make great use out of wind-breaker and sweatpants.

You’re always hot.

You can expect to hear this from myself multiple times in one day. Even if it is cold enough for a Winter jacket, once you feel the heat blowing in buildings, you’re done. One step inside and the jacket, scarf and gloves come off.

You’re angry when there is no snow on the ground for Christmas.

They say we are supposed to have a white Christmas, so why does it rarely happen? I am constantly checking the weather around Christmas time, hoping for the best.

You have mastered driving in snow.

You aren’t one of the people off in the ditch when it snows. Snow doesn’t stop you from doing things during Winter, which is why you’ve practiced driving in it.

You make millions of paper snowflakes during Winter.

You will typically find my family's house covered in paper snowflakes for decoration. They are simple, but so pretty. Just grab a sheet (or in my case 20 sheets) of paper and a pair of scissors. Fold the paper a few times, and cut out different shapes.

Whether you just like snow only a little, every time it snows, you like it a little more. Snow is beautiful, it covers branches and grass to give the season a blank canvas. You might continue to get strange looks when you say that you love Winter, because most people love feeling the rays of sun on them, but you love the brisk air, seeing your breath and building snowmen.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
