Don't get me wrong, college is alright. The people are nice, the food isn't bad, and most professors are interesting. Receiving a higher education is considered ideal nowadays, and society portrays life without a degree is hard. I do understand education is important, but I feel experiencing the world firsthand is a lot more beneficial than sitting in a classroom looking at pictures of all of these exciting places. Here are three places I'd very much rather be at the moment, instead of preparing for finals.
1. Paris, France
If it isn't obvious enough, Paris is a beautiful place full of culture. You could spend weeks adventuring the streets while eating as many baguettes as your heart desires. You can spend hours gazing at amazing pieces of art in the Louvre, climb to the top of the Eiffel tower, and experience so much more in person rather than through a book in any history class.
2. Venice, Italy
Venice, Italy is home to over 150 canals and is made up of about 115 tiny islands. It is the ideal place to eat loads of pizza and pasta, and then dig in again for seconds. You can gently glide through the waterways on a wooden boat, the sky above is full of vibrant pinks and oranges. You can take over a dozen different tours, and experience the Gothic, Byzantine, and Baroque styles of over 450 different palaces.
3. Oahu, Hawaii![](data:image/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http://www.w3.org/2000/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%20980%20576'%3E%3C/svg%3E)
Oahu, Hawaii, is known for various landmarks such as the 761-foot-tall Diamond Head crater, Pearl Harbor, the "Stairway to Heaven" hike, and immense beauty. You can hike through miles of rainforests and see the prettiest waterfalls in the world. While snorkeling in Hanuman Bay, you'll see beautiful coral reefs full of various types of marine life. Honolulu, the largest city in Oahu, is located on this island. Surfers come to Oahu for some of the largest waves in all of Hawaii.
