12 Ways To Have A Cozy Dorm

There are a lot of things that I love about college. I love the atmosphere and the community. I love that it takes me two minutes to walk from my dorm to my classroom. And I really love my roomie, suite-mates, and teachers, but I can say hands down the best thing I love about Anderson University, is my dorm. If you know me, you know that I am not a homebody. To be on-the-go is my first nature. Being busy, hanging out with the people I love, and sitting outside on a pretty day are my favorite things, but at the end of the day when there is nothing else on my to-do list, I am thrilled to come home to my cozy dorm.

I made a list on all the things that I find cozy or cute in my room and if you are trying to cozy up yours, feel free to take some ideas!

1. Throw Pillows On Your Bed

There is nothing cuter than throw pillows waiting on you when you get home!

2. Pictures Around Your Room

Because why not have pictures all around your room? Seeing pictures of my friends and family make me smile!

3. Cute School Supplies On The Desk

As much as I really need that paperclip right now, it's too cute to use.

4. Blankets On Blankets

Because blankets in the dorm are perfect.

5. Decorate For Each Season

Mini pumpkins for fall!

6. Wall Art That Makes You Smile

It brings color into your room and reminds you to keep on truckin'.

7. Stickers On Your Laptop Case!

I'm planning on filling this case up with stickers that mean a lot to me.

8. Chic And Classy Mugs

When you really need coffee, but the mug is super cute and you don't want to get it dirty....

9. A Comfy Rug

This is my favorite. Being able to walk onto a soft rug and jump into bed is just relaxing.

10. Pretty Lights

This is a big deal! Our room wouldn't look nearly as cozy if we didn't have the twinkling white lights.

11. Something That Reminds You Of Home

My family and I love music, so bringing my ukulele to the dorm reminds me of them on the daily.

12. Fake Or Real Flowers

Because they bring the room to life!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
