5 Things Today's Girls Just Can't Live Without

In This Article:

Listed below are five things that to me personally, are crucial. As a female, the joys of life are honestly in the little things. Like a good hair-tie or a brand new makeup pallet. So technically, we aren't as hard to please as everyone assumes... just give us these five things and we'll probably be the happiest girls in the world.

(Maybe add some chocolate and a diamond ring to this and you'll be set, but these things are fine, too.)

Dry Shampoo

A girl's best friend. A saving grace. A true angel. Dry shampoo literally makes the world go-round. I have no idea where I'd be in my life without it. I think back to high school me who truly had no clue about the wonders of life, and I shed a couple of tears for her. Because it wasn't until college that I really even knew what this was. But once I discovered it's importance, it saved my life. She's there for me when I need her most, and she never lets me down. Talk about a girl's best friend. I mean, it really doesn't get any better than that.

Sunglasses

Not the best hair day? Throw on some sunglasses. Breaking out? Sunglasses. Puffy eyes from lack of sleep and crippling anxiety? Sunglasses. Too lazy to put on makeup? Sunglasses. Severe eye sensitivity to sunlight even though you're 21 and young? Sunglasses. Not wanting to deal with other people today? Sunglasses. Outfit cute, but not cute enough? Sunglasses. The list could go on and on. You get the idea.

Comfy SweatshirtĀ

A comfy sweatshirt will literally change my entire mood. Like seriously, if I'm grumpy and pouting, throw me in a big comfy sweatshirt and I will be a different person. I can not describe to you the importance of having this. If you are constantly in a sour mood, this is most likely why. It is not only something life-changing but crucial.

Lipgloss/ chapstickĀ

I'm not sure why this is such a necessity to me, but most can agree with this: lipgloss is a game changer. Don't get me wrong, lipstick is nice, but cannot compare to the magic of having the perfect lipgloss.

NailsĀ

I feel naked without my nails done. It's horrible!!! Just tragic. I drop from a strong five to a weak two. It's the saddest thing in the world. Living paycheck to paycheck to get dedicate yourself to this lifestyle is not only hard but exhausting (all sympathy required please). But absolutely worth it.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First ā€” A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
