“Make someone feel something and you will never be forgotten.”
-Charlotte Eriksson
A few days ago this quote was brought to my attention. It made me think about the good and the bad things people have brought into my life and vise versa. I then started to think about a little, white, fluffy dog who has definitely made an impact.
It all started one afternoon when the girl was home alone with a little pug. He was about 2 years old and he didn’t do much and I mean literally all he did was sleep. The dog and the girl hadn’t done anything together. He was the family’s dog, but they didn’t really have much of a relationship. On that afternoon the girl decided to take this slumpish, lazy, boring dog to the dog park. He sat quietly in the passenger seat the whole ride there and didn’t once try to stick his head out of the window. “He doesn’t even seem like a normal dog,” the girl thought.
When arriving at the dog park the girl set the lazy dog down in the grass expecting him to do nothing like usual. But instead, he curled his little cinnamon roll tail and started running in circles. He ran around the park jumping, barking, and playing with every dog around him. This is when he brought a smile to the girl’s face that has never quite gone away.
After this day, the dog and the girl returned to the dog park regularly. Rain or shine, they were there. When the girl would come home he would throw his paws onto her legs while perking up his little black ears. She was right, the dog wasn’t normal… he was so much better than normal.
Months past and they became inseparable. Everywhere the girl went her four-legged friend was closely behind. Every time she cried he would lay by her until her tears dried, and every day he brought a smile to her face. Even when she thought her world was falling apart, she would look into the dogs innocent, big, brown eyes and know he was going to always be there for her. Their bond was and is unbreakable. This dog had made her feel like someone believed in her when she felt completely alone. The little dog had impacted her life and made her feel extremely lucky. Just like Eriksson said would happen, this dog made the girl feel something and she will never forget him.
Thank you, Brick, for all of the love, playfulness, cuddles and happiness you have brought into my life.
Love,
Your very lucky owner, Grace.
