One of the first things people say they notice about me is my smile because I am always smiling or laughing. Yes, I do have my bad days now and then but for the most part I am always a happy and fun person to be around. I am the type of person that is always down to try new things and I enjoy new experiences. My goal is to never be the person that doesn't want to be adventurous or try new things. Life is about stepping out of your comfort zone and trying things you would've never expected to try.
The most common phrases I hear are:
"How are you so happy?"
"You're always smiling."
"I wish I could be as energetic as you are."
When I am having a bad day, people notice right away. It is very rare for me to be in a bad mood, but when I am people are very confused. Even when I am in a bad mood I try my best to be my normal self, but it doesn't always work. I don't understand why people are shocked that I am happy most of the time, being happy is just a part of my personality. I can't imagine myself any other way.
Nowadays depression is a very common thing, you probably have at least one person in each of your classes that have been diagnosed with depression. As a society, we have become so used to the idea of people being unhappy or sad. Being depressed used to be rare, now being happy is the thing that is rare, why is that?
Happiness is a choice. If you are in a bad mood you have the option to continue to be in a bad mood or you could choose to be happy. I understand that this isn't that simple for some people, but it is still possible. "Happiness is a choice, not a result. Nothing will make you happy until you chose to be happy." This is a quote that I think everyone should try and live by.
Overall, I believe that everyone should try their best to be the happiest person they can possibly be. Although it may be more difficult for some people, it is worth a try. Being a happy person will change your life and in a great way. Step out of your comfort zone, try new things, and be the best version of yourself. Just remember that everyone goes through tough times in their life, but with a positive attitude, you can make the situation better.
"Every day we have plenty of opportunities to get angry, stressed or offended. But what you're doing when you indulge these negative emotions is giving something outside yourself power over your happiness. You can choose to not let little things upset you." Joel Osteen
