Some people have their cars, computers, or a sport, I have dying/cutting my hair. I just dyed my hair for the 1,000th time and every time I change my look in someway I feel more confident, comfortable, and just over all happier.
I have changed my look so many times through my life that my friends never get used to one look. Earlier this year I cut all of my hair off and vowed to never color my hair again, but as much as I tried, I just did not feel like myself without changing my own appearance again.
I have changed so much about my looks over the years, and every time I do something I get the same comment; "Why are you changing who you are?" Here is my answer to that; I am who I am and I will always be myself. Just because I get a new piercing, a tattoo, a new haircut, or fake eyelashes, it does not mean that I am changing who I am as a person. In reality the things I do to change my look is another way I am finding myself and who I REALLY am.
I am 20-years-old and only continuing to discover myself and the best way for me is to change my look very often. So, next time you see someone constantly changing her or his look, don't judge them as being fake or like someone else accept them for their bad-ass choices to express who they really are and who they are discovering to be. Everyone changes over time, some more drastically than others. I love that I live in a generation that does not judge for "crazy hair colors "and piercings, because that is who I am, and I will always continue changing, that is my best quality. I believe everyone should be comfortable in their own skin and stand up for what they believe in. I am hoping to be a role model for those younger than me, to show that it is acceptable, no matter what others say, to be who they want to be no matter what they look like or how often they change.
