It's Back, and It's Going to be Huge

Gilmore Girls Revival Survival Tips
E!

As everyone knows, the Gilmore Girls revival is coming up, and everyone is freaking out. From way back in 2000, the show captivated the mother-daughter world with Friday night dinners and endless cups of coffee. Ever since there's been news of the Netflix revival of the show, no one can contain their excitement! Now the show will focus on a grown-up Rory, a widowed Emily, and a confused Lorelai. All three seem to be lost and intend to find out who they want/need to be, so technically, I guess it's just the same as always. But now we get to find out who Rory chooses to fall in love with, if Luke and Lorelai will ever get married, and what kinds of jobs Kirk now has volunteered to do around the town. So, in order to get yourselves prepared for this exciting time, here are some helpful hints for how to get yourselves ready.

1. Wikipedia past seasons

I have a terrible memory, so if you're anything like me, you go on the internet to remind yourself on what the heck happened, especially since the last episode aired back in 2007. Plus it would be beneficial to remember all the drama with Rory and Dean, then Jess, then Dean again, then Logan, then Jess again and so on. And we can't forget about Lorelai's relationships; With her and Max, then Alex, then Jason, and Luke, and all the mess that is her and Christopher.

2. Make a grocery store run

One of the best things about Gilmore Girls is their eating habits. From their excessive amount of time spent at Luke's to getting international cuisine at Al's Pancake World, they have no problem helping out local businesses financially. And all the ice cream and junk food runs to Doose's market for their movie nights in. Heaven. So make sure to sit down on November 25th with all the snacks you can carry and watch this revival!

3. Watch. The. Trailer.

I, personally, teared up a little when watching it — my love for this show is too real. So if you're a die-hard GG fan like me, you probably will too. Seeing all the original characters come back for the 4 episodes is really special. And the part where we find out Richard passed away was so upsetting! His and Emily's relationship was sometimes the best comical relief of an episode. But when the theme song comes on during the trailer, make sure you belt it out as loud as you can because I know everyone who has ever watched that show knows every word and every montage at every part. Ahh, memories.

4. Hug your mom

It's no secret that Lorelai and Rory are best friends, just as every mother and daughter should be. So I know come Thanksgiving, my mom and I will watch it hard core in front of the TV all day eating junk food and talking about our favorite GG moments. So just be thankful you have your mom with you to watch this with and thank her everyday for being your best friend.

So raise your scotch and your cups of coffee all you Gilmore Girls lovers, because it's coming back!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
