"The Gilmore Girls."
What can I say? I love the show, even re-watching and re-watching and re-watching it. I own all the seasons on DVD. This show has made a serious impact on me as a student, a daughter and now as a mother. Maybe I'm looking too much into this show, but to me it was something that I turned to, to watch and enjoy, or to fill time and to quote verbatim.
News of the new season, season 8, was and is mind blowing to me. I just can't wait for the Netflix series to make its debut. The release date is still a secret, but someone was nice enough to start a rumor that it was going to hit Netflix July 1st. That was only the promo picture/season cover. Basically it ruined my life, I was so excited to drink tons of coffee and binge watch these mini-movies.
From what I know, the season is called "Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life," there are four mini-movies for each season of the year: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. Most of the original cast will be making their revival debuts, but the dynamic could be a little shaky without Edward Herman (Richard Gilmore), but I'm interested to see how that will pan out.
I'm ready to take that trip back to Stars Hollow, and see the old crew. When I tell you I've watched this show so many times that I feel like they are my crew. I routed for Lorelai every time she had a new love interest, I routed for Rory when she chose to go to Yale and then went to Yale.
Rumor has it there will be new faces in Stars Hollow, which will either add or subtract from the overall dynamic of the Stars Hollow family. Jessica Pena writer for tvseriesfinale.com quotes Michael Ausiello (unaccredited actor in the series) as saying,
"Unconfirmed reports put the revival’s release at either the Tuesday before or the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I have no idea if either date is true, but the former makes alot more sense than the latter. I mean, why would Netflix drop the four movie-lets at the end of a four-day weekend versus at the start? Of course, none of this really impacts me since I’ve already seen them all. I’ve also already read the 'Game of Thrones' Season 7 premiere script and glimpsed the first 14 minutes of 'Star Wars: Episode VIII: Fall of the Resistance,' so I think we can all agree I’ve come a long way since interning at 'As the World Turns.'”
